At Design Interviews

Interview with Claudio Sibille : Frank Scott: What is the main principle, idea and inspiration behind your design?. Claudio Sibille : Well, this particular work started in Marken, Holland. Marken is a beautiful small fishermen´s town. While sitting on the grass facing the coast I saw all the ships (actually boats and big boats), and the shape of the bow of a particular boat led me to start making some random sketches of what now resembles the lateral view of the legs of the table, leaning forward, just like the fore of a ship. It remained just a drawing. Some years later, back in Uruguay, found that same notebook at the same period of time I was working on a home desk design for my personal use. The idea was to make a sample in Uruguay and use it for myself. The shape stuck in my head and served as the leit motif of the whole project. .Frank Scott: What has been your main focus in designing this work? Especially what did you want to achieve?. Claudio Sibille : I wanted to make a project where the main purpose is creating everlasting and atemporal beauty. Something that would never be considered old nor modern. .Frank Scott: What are your future plans for this award winning design?. Claudio Sibille : Keep adding awards until I get better and better and making sure I always live up for the expectations. .Frank Scott: How long did it take you to design this particular concept?. What kind of research did you conduct for making this design?.
