Plaza del Sol
Plaza del Sol is a packaging design for bags of crisps. The graphics draw on folk motifs and souvenir objects found in Spanish tourist cities, and these references are presented in a contemporary way with humor. Each flow pack tells a short story built from souvenir items, with the intention of making the buyer smile. The images are created through still life photography arranged in a set, and the bags are produced by flexographic printing. Each bag measures 195 by 320 millimeters.
Plaza del Sol Crisp Bag by Estudio Maba was highlighted as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Plaza del Sol Crisp Bag won the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which rewards exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
