Soda Grocery
Soda Grocery is a packaging design for souvenir food sold to visitors in Macau. The design language is drawn from firecracker packaging produced in Macau during the twentieth century. Images of four women taken from the historical packaging are redrawn as contemporary illustrations and printed in bold colors. Four food packages carry the illustrations, and each box measures 185 by 145 by 55 millimeters. The printed wrapping paper and inner labels are finished with embossing, ultraviolet coating, bronzing and die cutting. The design keeps regional character while meeting modern taste.
Soda Grocery Graphic Packaging by Shenfan Lan was featured as a creative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. Soda Grocery Graphic Packaging was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2021. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design award that honors outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
