Rikchari
Rikchari is a packaging design for a Peruvian coffee brand focused on sustainability and social responsibility. The name Rikchari means wake up in Quechua, and the letter C forms a silhouette that suggests both a coffee bean and an eye. The packaging follows the logo design, which uses a typographic construction inspired by the geometric shapes of the Inca empire of Peru, known as Tocapu. The coffee is grown in Chirinos, in northern Peru, at 1700 meters above sea level. The design presents the coffee as an organic product with a social purpose.
Rikchari Coffee Packaging by Planetario was selected as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. Rikchari Coffee Packaging earned the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2021. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design competition that recognizes excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
