Mingniang Chinese Baijiu

Mingniang

Mingniang is a packaging design for a Chinese baijiu blended with concentrated tea essence. The bottle is made of glass and combines an embedded thin metal sheet with a landscape image carved on the back, which appears through the refraction of light. Acrylic, self-adhesive labels, silk screen printing and a crystal cover complete the package. Smooth flowing lines suggest lake water when seen from above and the aroma of tea when seen from below. An ecological green tone conveys the health theme of the drink. The package measures 150 by 150 by 338 millimeters.

Mingniang Chinese Baijiu by Manling Lin was selected as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Mingniang Chinese Baijiu earned the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2021. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design accolade that honors superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
