Nestle
Mr. Banana is a packaging design created for an ice cream product sold in China. The design returns a heritage brand to the market with a new visual identity based on rap music instead of rock music. A large pair of sunglasses is printed on each pack, so the product stands out inside crowded freezer cabinets. Nine sunglasses versions carry different phrases, allowing consumers to choose a pack that matches their personality or to collect all of them. The ice cream is wrapped in aluminum foil, and the outer box is made of eco-friendly paper with a gold stamped logo.
Nestle Ice Cream by Blackandgold Design (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. has been recognized as a grand example of communication design by the A' Design Award. Nestle Ice Cream received the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design prize which recognizes excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
