The Wine Barrel Classic
Designers presented the wine barrel in its natural environment, the barrel. They used codes of wine tasting (cellar, barrels, flows) and broke the stereotypes of bottled wine and designed the packaging so that The Wine Barrel communicates the quality of a wine taken directly from the barrel and reversed the established idea that good wine can only exist in a glass container.
The Wine Barrel Classic Packaging by Antonia Skaraki has been selected as a grand illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award. The Wine Barrel Classic Packaging earned the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2022. The A' Packaging Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that honors excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
