WellPaper
WellPaper is a mobile application that shows screen time and smartphone usage through five dynamic wallpapers. Installed applications are sorted into six categories, and their screen times are displayed directly on the home screen. The five designs are Composition, Glow, Radial, Cosmos and Botanical Garden. Each wallpaper is rendered as a static image and updated on unlock, which keeps battery use low. A companion screen allows users to set a daily screen time target and review details for each category. The aim is to make daily smartphone habits easy to understand.
WellPaper Mobile Application by Jay Qian was recognized as an outstanding illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. WellPaper Mobile Application received the Bronze A' Design Award in Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design in 2022. The A' Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award that honors exceptional design of smartphones, tablets, wearables, mobile applications, mobile games, mobile software, mobile platforms, mobile interfaces and more.
