Memory of Jiangnan
Memory of Jiangnan is a poster based on a traditional Chinese poem. The design draws on the characteristics of oracle bone inscriptions and seal script, which are simplified into clear graphic forms. Traditional elements are transformed graphically, deconstructed and recreated, with three-dimensional experiments applied to the letterforms. The poster is produced by digital printing and measures 70 by 100 centimeters. The intent is to present the charm of Jiangnan culture, Chinese characters and ancient poetry to an international audience.
Memory of Jiangnan Poster by YI WU has been identified as an exceptional example of communication design by the A' Design Award. Memory of Jiangnan Poster earned the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2022. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition which rewards exceptional design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
