Food Guardian
Food Guardian is a mobile application designed to reduce food waste. Food Guardian records food waste in real time and encourages saving food through gamification. Users can track the amount of food they buy and receive reminders to store leftovers in a shared refrigerator. Further modules include a food calendar, a shopping list, a leftovers contest and a donation section. Food Guardian also supports the recycling of surplus food in cooperation with food suppliers and related organizations. The application is made for the iOS system.
Food Guardian Mobile Application by Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen was identified as a creative representation of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Food Guardian Mobile Application received the Iron A' Design Award in Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design in 2022. The A' Mobile Technologies, Applications and Software Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design competition that celebrates outstanding design of smartphones, tablets, wearables, mobile applications, mobile games, mobile software, mobile platforms, mobile interfaces and more.
