Primary Residence
Primary Residence is a visual identity system for a multidisciplinary brand. The project began as a typography exploration that links the style of the Bauhaus movement with abstract architectural forms. The logo is based on the Chinese character Ju, which means living space, and carries three stripes in the primary colors red, yellow and blue. The name Primary Residence refers both to these colors and to the meaning of home in an age of isolation. The identity is applied to a brochure, a business card and a stationery kit printed on textured paper.
Primary Residence Visual Branding by Tianzhen Evleen Huang has been identified as a grand representation of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Primary Residence Visual Branding won the Iron A' Design Award in Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design in 2022. The A' Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Award is an international, meritocratic, just and fair design prize that rewards outstanding design of logos, posters, infographics, brochures, packaging designs, business cards, book covers, billboards and more.
