The Zodiac
The Zodiac is a set of bookmarks based on the twelve animals of the Chinese zodiac. Each bookmark is shaped so that the animal appears to walk inside the book. The bookmarks are made of high-toughness stainless steel, electroplated with 18k gold and finished by CNC engraving with a precision of 0.3mm. Simplified lines unify the twelve animals while keeping the character of each one. The packaging arranges the zodiac illustrations in a circular pattern to symbolize completeness. Gold and red are used to suggest joy and blessing.
The Zodiac Bookmark by Wenxian LIu has been identified as a grand example of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. The Zodiac Bookmark won the Iron A' Design Award in Art and Stationery Supplies Design in 2023. The A' Art and Stationery Supplies Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which celebrates exceptional design of brushes, paints, sketchbooks, pencils, pastels, easels, canvases, markers and more.
