Recombination
Recombination is a series of posters about extinct animals. Each poster places a detailed illustration of an extinct animal at the visual centre, set against a softened map of the geographic location. Highly saturated colours unify the images and separate the animals from the background. Mechanical circuit patterns are merged with the animal forms to suggest a continuation of life. The posters also present the year of extinction and the main physical features. The intent is to inform viewers and to support the protection of living animals.
Recombination Visual Poster Design by Sinong Ding was selected as an exceptional illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award.
