Xilin Gol Cheese
Xilin Gol Cheese is a packaging design for a cheese product from the Xilin Gol Grassland. The square box opens and closes at the top and the bottom. The outer shell is made of paper and plastic with a hollowed out pattern shaped like a yurt. Transparent sheets on the front and the back are printed with illustrated characters of the cheese family. Patterns and texts on both sides are letterpress printed. The inner case is opaque paper with illustrations of grassland scenery. The design joins Mongolian culture with modern graphic art.
Xilin Gol Cheese Packaging by Chenghua Li has been identified as an innovative illustration of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Xilin Gol Cheese Packaging received the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2024. The A' Packaging Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design prize that honors exceptional design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
