Kolompeh
Kolompeh is a packaging design for traditional Kerman pastries that are filled with dates and sweetened with grape syrup. The box is made of cardboard coated with water-based materials to keep the packaging environmentally friendly. Illustration covers the surfaces, showing characters inspired by the ancestors of Kerman, with long mustaches and clothing decorated with Persian patterns. Gold and vivid printed colors suggest quality, and each color refers to a flavor. The pastries are arranged inside on food-grade wax paper. The design connects local art with the modern market.
Kolompeh Traditional Kerman Pastries by Sajad Izadi was identified as a grand example of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Kolompeh Traditional Kerman Pastries was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2025. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, juried, academic and meritocratic design award which recognizes excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
