Massaya
Massaya is a decorative package designed to hold two wine bottles. Most wine packages are made for vertical display and are discarded once the bottles are removed. Massaya offers a reusable alternative. The package is horizontal, because wine is best stored in that position, and it looks like a vintage book. An inner die cut shaped for the two bottles holds them safely in place. The closing system uses two side flaps and two smaller flaps, so no stickers are needed. The box can be refilled or used as a decorative object on a shelf.
Massaya Packaging by Vicken Demirdjian - BRANDIT. was recognized as a grand example of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Massaya Packaging won the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2014. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade that honors superior design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
