Huanghongying
Huanghongying is a packaging design for tea grown in the mountains of Guizhou. The outer box is made of lightweight carton, which is easy to carry, transport and recycle. The tea is divided into small separate bags, so each portion can be taken without affecting the rest. Hand-drawn illustrations cover the surface of the box and show the tea mountain climate, the local natural ecology and the growing methods used in the tea garden. Useful data is listed beside the illustrations. The design lets consumers see the origin and quality of the tea.
Huanghongying Tea Packaging Design by Wei Dai has been highlighted as an innovative representation of communication design by the A' Design Award. Huanghongying Tea Packaging Design won the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design prize that honors excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
