Beautiful Life
Beautiful Life is a packaging design for mothballs sold in China. Mothball packaging is strictly regulated, so most products in the market look alike. Beautiful Life uses a calligraphic logo, peach flowers and a figure drawn from ancient Chinese painting. The opening window has the shape of a bat, a traditional symbol of blessing. The tin can is printed in eight colors, and the paper box is carved and gilded. The tin can seals the odor and can be kept and reused. A hidden inner lid makes the container hard for children to open.
Beautiful Life Mothball by Shuwei Qi has been selected as an outstanding example of communication design by the A' Design Award & Competition. Beautiful Life Mothball was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is a highly prestigious, international, juried design recognition program that celebrates outstanding design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
