Zhengyuanpu
Zhengyuanpu Travellers Series is a portable packaging design for Pu'er tea, a traditional Chinese drink. Pu'er tea is usually sold as pressed cakes of 357 grams, which must be pried open with a tea pin before brewing. The Travellers Series holds a small portion instead, so no tools are needed and the wrapper is simply torn open. Each wrapper measures 50 by 85 by 3 millimetres and is made of cotton paper. Embossing, debossing and foil stamping shape the tea image and suit the taste of the intended consumers. Safer materials and a simpler production process were selected.
Zhengyuanpu Pu'er Tea Packaging by Jinde Design was selected as an exceptional illustration of communication design by the A' Design Awards. Zhengyuanpu Pu'er Tea Packaging was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2020. The A' Packaging Design Award is an international, jury-voted, fair and ethical design accolade which recognizes excellent design of bottles, boxes, cans, pouches, tubes, cartons, wrappers, bags and more.
