Scarecrow
Scarecrow is a plant protection drone designed for farmland use. The drone completes spraying operations and returns to its base through program control. An eight axis redundant design and an adaptive power protection algorithm allow safe flight even if one axis fails. A sound system plays bird calls to move birds away from the fields without harming them. The main frame is made of carbon fiber, the link parts are 3D printed titanium alloy, and the rotors are injection molded. The rotors also collect wind energy for self charging while the drone waits.
Scarecrow Plant Protection Drone by Mingxi Li has been selected as an innovative representation of industrial design by the A' Design Awards. Scarecrow Plant Protection Drone received the Iron A' Design Award in Agricultural Tools, Farming Equipment and Machinery Design in 2021. The A' Agricultural Tools, Farming Equipment and Machinery Design Award is a juried, academic and highly prestigious design competition that rewards exceptional design of tractors, harvesters, plows, irrigation systems, seeders, sprayers, balers, cultivators and more.
