Naked Castle Visual Signage System

Naked Castle

Naked Castle is a signage system designed for a historic castle hotel on Moganshan. The design pairs a coat of arms with Art Deco lettering, and the geometric figures and lines follow proportions close to the golden ratio. British elements such as a hoof, a shield and a streamer are merged in the coat of arms, while icons of a king and a queen wearing crowns appear on the signs. The coat of arms was cast in low melting point metal, then hand polished and colored. The signs use forged iron and local wood to resist the outdoor mountain climate.

The aim is to present Asian culture with respect for natural life.

Something like a business card, only classier, cheaper and environment friendly. So a stamp (carimbo) was the choice. A signature. Its inner part represents Igor's confusing and beautiful creative process, while the round frame wraps it up in fluidity and gives it purpose. These two combined build a texture the ink can flow through, providing the perfect support to his personal brand. At last, Minion Pro gracefully writes the contact information.
